Dave started playing drums at the age of 6 with the use of a Sears “Satin and Steel” drum set, tiny little turn table and a few KISS records. As part of the NDSS Wind Ensemble (tympani player), he competed in the national music finals in Ottawa in 1987. In 1990, Dave competed in the national music finals in Winnipeg in the NDSS Senior Stage band as a drum kit/bass player. Dave also was a member of the NDSS Dixieland band (drums/bass), the NDSS vocal ensemble (bass player) and The Portable Blues Generator (bass player), which was made up from a selection of music students from NDSS but was not part of the actual music program. This band covered 70’s fusion tunes from the likes of Tower of Power, the Blues Brothers, B,S&T, etc. Most of the 90’s were spent working on projects with other musicians, except for 94-95 when Dave played drums for a Kingston based country/blues band named WestWind. Fast forward to 2000 (after a few moves from Kingston to Ottawa to Toronto and back to Ottawa once again) Dave hooked up with a franco-rock band named Lacasse from Gatineau, and recorded their second album (La tete au ciel). In 2003 Dave joined Jacko, an Ottawa based, rock trio, recorded their first album (Whenever It Happens) and still does shows with Jacko, as well as the mighty Sedrick!
