Lillian has been playing bass in a laid back way for about 18 years, and has been
playing piano and singing since she was 3 years old. She studied piano, theory, and composition at
University of Western Ontario in London, where she met various other composers that strongly influenced her own musical direction
and with whom she did much free improvisational music on multiple instruments.
Although originally inspired by classic rock of the 60's and 70's, her main influences
now are 80's indie bands like Husker Du and Pere Ubu, and the 90'-00's music of PJ Harvey. Lillian loves an incredibly wide variety of music, from gangsta rap to quiet music like Feist to experimental music like OOIOO, to jammy music like the Grateful Dead, to hard rock and metal bands of the past decades. Lillian is also classically trained on piano and gravitates to Baroque and 20th Century music when in the mood for the classics. She sometimes teaches a classical music appreciation class at her local Canterbury Community centre, has a good understanding of classical theory and can teach generally about differences in musical style in classic music from 1300-1950. Lillian has played bass in the Toronto punk band Grump, a Toronto all-female, all-song-writer band called The G-Spots, and presently plays with and writes for
Sedrick. Lillian works seasonally as a horticulturalist for Turf's Up and is also into weight training and aerobics.
