One Last Time
Line of limos inching
Silver photograph
Crazy web of folding
Enough to push them back
The people that you trusted came to lie
They didn't know but did it all the same
Double back
Shine the dusty black
Reflecting in the bathtub
A thousand years inside
Candle smoke and flame
Drift into steam and hide
It wasn't like you knew some other way
And looking back will only make it fade
A better day
Just outside the frame
Shreds of paisley sunrise
Charcoal on your back
Forget about the landing
These kids just want to dance
Unsinkable and stately on the sea
Lace and silver, horses in the street
Memories
Things you didn't see
The few that you could talk with
Could only give you scraps
The words you fought so hard for
Are always fighting back
Power lines that criss-cross evening sky
Will still be there, you can pass them by
But you won't
You promised once and so
Just one more time
Yours and then mine
Etched in so deep
Speaks through a dream
Sky down below
Stars overflow
Drift into line
Just one last time
